| Job Requirements Qualifications | We have received a new order from a client of ours which consists of subtitling trailers of 1:30 min to 2:30 min duration and I’d like to check your availability. It would be a long term project and the volume of work will ramp up to be quite high after some weeks. The trailers will mostly be international blockbusters, commercial films, etc. although it might be pretty varied in style. The trailers need to be subtitled using the Netflix specifications and will come with an English timed template for you to work on. Thanks for letting me know what subtitling software you use. The rate for English to Japanese is 20.00$ per trailer. In order for us to consider you for this job, we’d first need to receive a 5 minute test from you which consist of an extract from a film. | |

Collaborating with engineering and product teams to ensure that language requirements from technical and linguistic perspectives are understood and supported.Monitoring and managing the activity of the community of volunteer translators. Requirements - Japanese mother-tongue and near-native fluency in English. 3+ years of experience in English-to-Japanese translation and localization, Experience in localization project management is a plus. Strong familiarity with the Japanese culture and trends. Familiarity with computer-aided translation tools is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages (other than native and English) is a plus. Great attitude towards work and people. BA or equivalent required (preferably in a translation, linguistic, or related field). Master of Arts or equivalent is preferred. Cross-functional experience working with engineers and product teams is highly preferred. | |
